Back home!
We arrived in Des Moines at 11:00 last night. My inlaws greeted us with open arms, but Karla's had little bear! He almost made it to see us but was 10 minutes to late! We got home around 1:30am. Matthew woke up as we came into the house. We got a picture together while snuggling!
Matthew had school this morning so up bright and early. Chris and I worked in the shop today to get caught up on stuff we missed. I put last of last year hog shoulder roast in the oven for supper. Chris got a call for a semi rerate tonight, so we all are supper at different times. My pigs even missed me! 🐷 Tom and Pat have been in the field for a few days now on beans. Bob and Michael have been driving trucks while we have been gone.

Matthew school pictures came today! So dang cute!

Im sure glad to be home! ❤️
Thanks for following us along this Peiffer's heads west trip!

Day 10- Part 1 We woke up to news that Las Vegas had a devastating shooting at a county music party last night. We continue to think about all the people and their family that happen to be there. With that I'm ready to get back home to the shop!
We arranged our bags to get ready for the plane. It was late morning when we decided to take a lunch run before heading to the airport. We jumped on my aunt and uncle bicycles to a brewery where we both got a sandwich. We said our goodbyes to the kids, aunt and uncle! We arrived at the airport where my one bag got looked through good cause I didn't realize I couldn't have pudding with me. We are waiting for our flight to Denver then into Des Moines at 11pm tonight. All at once I hear a Cat and it won't stop meowing. I thought it was a phone till I see a long haired person holding this bag. I told chris oh that lady is taking her cat with her. When the long hair person turned around I realized it was a dude with his cat! Now sure how far they are traveling but Mr kitty don't like being in a cage.

Day 9- We started our morning with a good night sleep I say this cause I was in my own twin size bed. We got up to head to mass downtown Portland when, we took the wrong interstate, wrong roads, and parked at the wrong church we finally arrived at the St.Marys Cathedral church built in its current location in 1926.  The organ located in the balcony, is a Murray/Harris Los Angeles Art 32 stop electro-pneumatic action pipe organ, built in 1904 for Holy Cross Church in San Francisco. After the 1906 earthquake, the organ was rebuilt. However, after the 1989 Oakland earthquake, the church was not restored, and the organ was brought to Portland, where Bond Pipe Organs, Inc. restored it and added four stops for the cathedral. This is where the boys go to school at.

After mass we went to the nike store. We each  picked up a new pair of shoes. I laugh cause chris picked his off the sale rack and I believe they are golfing shoes. I guess he thinks he's a golfer now cause of last night. Just kidding he said they feel like regular shoes so he is wearing them. We grab lunch at a grocery store that was nothing I had been in before. Think of HUHOT at home well put that in a grocery store and next table down chris could order a sandwich. We was both happy with our lunch!
Next we drove an hour south to Evergreen Aircraft Museum. The new home of the Spruce Goose. The goose was made out of wood for it was on a government contract to be built to help WW2 but it couldn't use metal rations for the build. They also couldn't recruit workers from other aviation builders. So they hired guys all over the US to help build this boat with wings out of birch wood. That thing is huge and it did in fact fly for a short period of time. While I was watching the video chris got a VIP tour of the cockpit. Lucky! We didn't have much time for the closed at 5:00.
We thought we would save some stuff for next time. They have a water park and another building full of aviation equipment we didn't get to see. Matthew would like the water park!
Made it back to Portland just in time for Delaney pizza on the grill and ice cream with the kids! I can't say it enough how wonderful it is to be here with them! ❤️
Tomorrow afternoon we fly back to Iowa to see our little bear! Oh how this trip has been hard on this mama bear!

Day 8-we started our day leaving Seattle to drive south to Portland. Drove in rain and seen a few accidents, made for a long 2 1/2 hr ride much longer. We made it to Portland and tried to see the waterfalls but with the fires they had closed the roads, we tired to get around the road closed so we went down some cattle road, it was beautiful but unfortunately I got car sick :( I told chris to get my back to Portland, we stopped at a look out for some pictures of the Columbia river. Between Oregon and Washington state. We arrived at the Delaney household by 5:30 to see off my two younger cousins to their homecoming dance. They are so handsome and have grown up so fast! McCalls girlfriend is absolutely beautiful! It's so wonderful to be back in my aunt and uncles house! Aunt Erin took us out to a hit place! Top golf 🏌 is where you order food, drinks and hit golf balls into these colored nets for points, 3 floors of awesomeness! I totally think Iowa city or Des Moines would be rolling in the money if they had one! We are calling it a night so we can get some sleep and go to mass in the morning!

Day 7- Today was the last day for Rottler Open house, every two years this company that  builds shop equipment for around the world, invitees Salemans and their customers to look at new and coming equipment. What a wonderful experience and how well we got fed! Tonight we went to LeMay museum where the whole place was reserved to us so we got to see the cars and trucks, see who can take off a tire quicker with air gun, and who can drive better on the racing simulator. Chris won the tire changer at 20 seconds and I had 33 seconds. Then when it came time to prove it on the track I whooped him! The guy said I had a pretty good time best so far! NASCAR driving!
We have big plans for tomorrow and sunday! We will head to Portland in the morning!
Night night
